The application currency can be set to any world currency.
Click on the Settings cog (bottom left), select Application Administration and select the currency from the list shown when you click on the Chose Available Currencies button.
You can then add it as the Default.
Currencies can be used selectively for separate measures, you can build your own list by going through the process above multiple times
